Georgia was founded in 1732. James Oglethorpe founded the colony to be a place where debtors could make a fresh start. In the other colonies, the government could imprison debtors who didn't pay their debts. Oglethorpe offered to pay for them if they moved to Georgia. Georgia was the last of the 13 colonies to be founded. This gave debtors a great opportunity to get up and start all over again. Most of the population in Georgia were debtors.
Economy-In Georgia, there was a good relationship between the different races of men, although only white men could vote. These white men were usually rich people who owned many slaves.
Geography- Georgia has lots great fertile farmland making farming be the leading source for the economy. There were many rivers in Georgia. Because of fertile land and water source, trees were able to grow despite warm temperatures all year around.
Government- A constitutional monarchy was in place, because of the close contact with England.
Celebrity/Important Residents- James E. Carter and Martin Luther King Jr. James E Carter was a president of the United States of America and Martin Luther King Jr. was a famous speaker who fought against racism and discrimination.
